Minneapolis, MN – (February 12, 2020): EXB Solutions, Inc. is now a member of the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE™) Consortium, a syndicate of The Open Group. The FACE Consortium, an aviation-focused professional group, consists of close to 100 companies, defense contractors, government, educational institutions and suppliers. The vendor-neutral forum provides a foundation of consistent approaches, technical standards, best practices and solutions while seeking to create open-architecture avionics standards for component interoperability and portability and reduced costs.

“Since our inception, we have widely worked on safety and mission critical software systems in the military and aerospace industry. The core values of FACE Consortium aligns with our dedication to improving safety in aerospace,” said Chris Schwartzbauer, CEO of EXB Solutions. “We look forward to working with industry leaders on defining a common language requirement, software portability and reducing costs within avionics systems.”

One of their many objectives is to develop and bring to light the open standards, best strategies, guidance documents and business models required to achieve quality software in aerospace systems. Joining the FACE Consortium provides a platform for innovation and competition within the industry.

The FACE Technical Standard is the open avionics standard for making military computing operations and mission critical software systems more vigorous, interoperable, portable and safe. These common operating standards permit and empower software developers to generate and deploy a wide series of applications for use in military aviation systems. Today, one of the procurement requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense aviation industry is to comply with the FACE Technical Standard.

FACE Consortium members include major players like Boeing, Collins Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, U.S. Army CCDC C5ISR, U.S. Army PEO Aviation, General Dynamic, GE Aviation and U.S. Army Project Manager Electronic Warfare and Cyber.
